WiFi not detected on Asus ROG Strix B550-F WiFi II
Hope I can get a hand: having an issue that the built in WiFi is not recognized and built in Bluetooth seems to go in and out. (Or did, it's staying on at the moment.) - I have a USB wifi dongle I'm using to download updates, then unplugging it to check for changes. - I am logged in as an administrator for this process. I have done the following: - reinstalled Windows (11) - confirmed in BIOS wifi and BT are turned on. (Tried turning them off, rebooted, then turned back on.) - tried the correct board (II) drivers, which do nothing after you click to install them and confirm permission. - tried Armory Crate to update the drivers: some updated. - tried AMD chipset software installer v4.0.7.13 to update the drivers: some updated --- Current drivers: Mediatek wifi driver: 3.3.0.713 Mediatek Bluetooth driver: 1.930.0.257 AMD chipset driver: 4.07.13.2243 Realtek audio driver: 6.0.9411.1 Amd processor power management: 8.0.0.13 Amd i2c driver: 1.2.0.119 Amd gpio driver (for promontory) 3.0.0.0 Amd gpio driver: 2.2.0.130 Amd smbus driver: 5.12.0.38 Amd pci driver: 1.0.0.89 Amd psp driver: 5.19.0.0
I updated the issue and didn’t get any assistance. I reached out to tech support who chose to return it via RMA, but that would take over a week. They also offered to send one myself but required a $200 deposit, which is more than what the board costs. They recommended trying Amazon returns, which I plan to do since it should be quicker.
UPATE: I received the new motherboard from Amazon (same store bought first one), changed my setup to it, connected it, checked that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth were active in BIOS, waited for Windows to start, and everything is functioning. Restarted and it still works. Since it's the same SSD and no updates or drivers were added, this suggests a hardware problem. SUGGESTION: If you purchased it recently, return it for an exchange and try again. If not, reach out to Asus about a replacement (expect a 1-2 week wait and shipping cost).
