I start my laptop at home and notice it isn't linked to my router or extender. Instead, it connects to 'Telstra Air' or 'Fon Wifi,' both public Wi-Fi networks. In simple terms:
- I've never asked my laptop to join those networks.
- I'm unsure how much risk these connections pose.
- My laptop connects to them automatically when it's off.
- I need a way to prevent it from joining those networks at all.

How can I tell my computer to avoid those networks completely?

I'm not sure of your operating system, but on Windows 7 you can configure a preferred network connection.

Windows 10 somewhere in its settings has an option for "connect to recommended networks", you could try turning this off.
