I've experienced repeated WiFi interruptions after switching from a wired connection to wireless. I updated the driver on the ASUS support page (version 2024.0.4.102), which reduced the drops but didn't eliminate them entirely. Using the Windows 10 network troubleshooter resets the adapter, allowing it to reconnect, though the issue persists. After uninstalling and reinstalling, I'm stuck. I've seen the "Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #2" code 10 appear sporadically in Device Manager, but not consistently. My setup doesn't support a wired connection, so I don't want to purchase an adapter. This problem is still frustrating. Please help me resolve it.
I assumed it was my router and brought my PC to my girlfriend’s and dad’s houses. The issue kept happening at both places. No other WiFi devices were affected. My home uses the standard Xfinity router, my dad’s has a Nighthawk R7000, and my girlfriend’s uses a default Spectrum router.
I’m unsure about this but I need to confirm. Are the antennas properly fastened onto the back of the motherboard and held securely? Often people ask this to ensure everything is correctly installed.
I just verified they’re secured as snug as a gun. I was really counting on me missing something like that, haha. I remember purchasing an Intel WiFi card in the past; if I can track it down, replacing my current one might solve the issue. I’m hoping the motherboard’s built-in WiFi card is detachable. I’ll update once I locate the Intel model.
The Intel chip has been running smoothly since this morning with no problems. It might be that the Realtek card was defective.
