I've experienced this problem for several months where my Wi-Fi intermittently drops unless I restart the router. The wired connection works perfectly, but devices like smartphones, a PS4 or laptop stay connected yet lose internet access occasionally. This causes errors such as "Incorrect password for XYZ" on iPhone, "Obtaining IP address..." on Android, and "Cannot connect to this network" on Windows laptops. My router was purchased in March 2019 (DLink DIR-816). It has a patch cable in the WAN port from an ISP device, and another cable from a second device connected via an unmanaged switch. The main ISP cable comes from a possibly unmanaged switch. I'm using several laptops and devices, all updated to the latest versions. Could upgrading to a better router help? Thanks!

Occasionally, certain routers perform a channel scan after being restarted.
