We recently added Arlo security cameras at a neighbor’s residence. More details here: https://www.amazon.com/Arlo-Security-Sys...ity+system. We now have six cameras, but when we first set them up the Wi-Fi performance dropped noticeably. The setup involves connecting each camera to the hub and linking the hub directly to the router via Ethernet. Placing the camera unit close to the router seems to be the issue. The system uses motion detection and is positioned throughout the home at suitable distances. When movement occurs inside a room, it records either a 10-second or 1-minute clip, depending on the camera’s settings (typically 480 or 720p). The video quality is average. Do you think the hub is actually affecting the network speed? I’m calling out the situation because the internal connection should be fast. Verizon supplies the router, and internet speeds were previously slow but have improved recently. I suspect the speed might be around 35 or 50 MBPS. Originally we had four cameras and experienced problems. Someone occasionally unplugs the router to “reset” it, though I doubt this is necessary. I believed resetting would only matter in cases of attacks, memory leaks, or excessive network traffic. Currently, the network has minimal users—just a phone with WhatsApp and a laptop for business tasks. Could substantial slowdown happen, or is this just a misunderstanding? I suspect these concerns may stem from motives other than the actual installation process.

I hadn't considered that idea. It seems the tale suggests inconsistency, but we might explore it. I don’t have a fixed deadline, but I’d love to hear others’ perspectives if possible. Thanks!
