WiFi fails when Ethernet is connected and the monitor is off.
I recently purchased a new monitor with USB-C docking that also supports Ethernet. It functions properly, but after turning it off, my Wi-Fi suddenly stops working. When I disconnect the Ethernet cable, all devices reconnect instantly. I’m unsure if the issue lies with the monitor or my router. The model I have is the iiyama Prolite XUB2792QSN-B1, and my router is an older D-Link DIR-809. Is there a straightforward solution or should I consider replacing the router?
I’d think the monitor might be the issue since it functioned properly before you received it. It could help to contact iiyama support for suggestions. I’d also test another cable and port on the router. If you have an extra switch or an old router, connecting it between the devices would be a fast temporary fix.
After much troubleshooting, it turned out to be an issue with Ethernet over USB-C, likely caused by my monitor. I attempted to use a switch between my router and monitor, but the same problem persisted. I’ve decided to stop trying this now since no solutions seem available. Appreciate your response!
