WiFi extremely delayed following motherboard and CPU modifications.
I upgraded from an I7-5820K on a X99 to a 10700k and a Z490 Aorus Elite AC. I switched to a TP-Link Archer T5E and noticed extremely slow internet speeds compared to my previous setup. The speed dropped from 225 to around 5 with a 5-second buffer, even though everything was in the same area and nothing seemed to block the signal. Only the CPU and motherboard changed. My phone still maintains at least 150mbps down and 12mbps up, all within a day. Also, I reinstalled the Wi-Fi drivers and it’s now using Wi-Fi 4.
The T5E supports WiFi 5 with speeds reaching up to 867Mbps. Are you checking the router’s status? This would help confirm if your wireless device uses a 2.4GHz network in a busy area. Could you share the exact model and make of your router? If you’re stuck on 2.4GHz in a crowded space, that’s likely the cause. Use WiFi Analyzer (free from the MS Store) to scan and view channel usage on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
