WiFi adapter disappeared from ASUS TUF Windows 10 setup.
EDIT: The ASUS Wi-Fi card is likely low-cost, so consider replacing it. I didn’t swap it because it sometimes disappears unexpectedly, but it often shows high ping jitter compared to other devices. No driver updates resolved the issue. My laptop is an ASUS TUF A15 FX506IU. The adapter frequently disappears while gaming, disconnects abruptly, and I need to run Windows Troubleshooter. It sometimes restarts the card, but resets can fail or leave it missing. Restarting the machine often helps, though it sometimes doesn’t work after several attempts. It displays a "device not connected" message. I’ve tried fixing everything online—no success. I’ve used cmd commands, reinstalled drivers, updated Windows, disabled power-saving, blocked shutdowns, and even brought it to ASUS service. They seem unfamiliar with the problem. Most users report similar issues during gameplay. Is this related to GPU power usage? The connection works when downloading large files but not during games. No one has mentioned this before. The adapter won’t load in Safe Mode with Networking because Windows can’t find its driver. My friend suggested trying Linux, but I lack the resources for that (I’m on a metered plan with slower speeds). Anyone else experiencing this?
Navigate to Settings > System > Power and Suspension. Tap the side for Additional energy saving settings.
Next, go to the following pages: Change combination settings, then Change advanced energy saving settings.
On the next step, expand Wireless Card Settings and then Power Saving Mode.
In Battery power supply and Power supply, choose Maximum performance.
It appears many users are encountering issues with this configuration.
Sorry, I didn't locate "Power and Suspension," "Additional energy saving settings," or "Change advanced energy saving settings" in Settings>system. I only found "Power & sleep" and "Additional power setting." Could you share a screenshot of the relevant settings? Also, your NVIDIA driver update seems to have resolved the issue at least temporarily.
This setting isn't what I was aiming for. I've already tried this a while back and I'm tired of hearing that maximum performance means skipping power savings.
Did the issue resolve after updating the drivers, or is it still present? If not, what additional steps did you take? I'm here for anyone facing similar challenges.
The issue stems from the inexpensive Wi-Fi card. You should upgrade it. The laptop has already been sold.
