WiFi问题真让人困惑!
Hello everyone! I'm facing some unusual problems with my new Netgear CAX30 modem/router setup. I followed all the instructions carefully, and everything seems to be working properly. When I run a speed test using the nighthawk app, the connection speed to the modem is around 235-245 Mbps (my plan is 200 Mbps), but when I test from other devices over Wi-Fi, the speeds are extremely slow—between 10 and 12 Mbps. On average, the 2.4 GHz network drops between 10-15 Mbps, and the 5 GHz network doesn't show any signal at all. I bought this combo because my previous rental from Comcast had similar issues, but I didn’t have control over their router settings. I’ve tried changing channels with inSSIDer to avoid interference, and even then, the results are consistent. The router was reset twice recently, and it’s been less than three hours since I got it. It seems like the problem isn’t with my device at all.
You receive what you expect online. Downloading big files or streaming high-quality videos can affect performance.
It’s unlikely they’re good quality. Netgear consumer routers often end up being wasteful, using materials that aren’t worth the cost.
Very low speeds are the main problem. All wired links work properly. The Wi-Fi connection is the only one affected.
Can you share the WiFi configuration screenshots for the CAX30 and the inSSIDer channel analysis? Make sure no passwords are visible.
@Falcon1986 confirms. I'll do it after work tonight. Appreciate it!
