You can connect with an Ethernet cable from the Wi-Fi extender, and it will perform just as well as your wireless connections can reach. It should remain reliable.

If the extender links to the main router through WiFi, it may face similar stability issues. Although less probable compared to a WiFi connection, a wired link to the router ensures the most reliable performance.
