Apple’s decision seems questionable given the technical details. Using USB 3.2 on one of the USB-C ports can indeed cause interference with the USB bus frequency, which may affect performance. While Apple hasn’t officially addressed this issue, it raises concerns about compatibility and design. It might be a poor choice if they didn’t anticipate such conflicts, especially for older devices. A refund could be reasonable if the problem is significant enough to impact usability.

Consider sharing this with Louis Rossmann; he frequently creates content critiquing Apple's product issues.

I experience the same problem with my 2016 Macbook Pro 15 inch occasionally. It doesn't seem severe enough to justify a refund or return, as it only happens with one of my four ports (likely the top left). In this situation, I agree with Apple's stance.

He’s already created a video on this topic. Your friend might choose to purchase an Apple adapter or switch to 5GHz Wi-Fi, but trying to sue Apple won’t help much.
