Low connection speed on Android might signal interference from other 2.4GHz devices, or it could be caused by a Wi-Fi extender or access point. Are you using any of those?

Maybe it’s due to differences in the WiFi radios or how the antenna layout is set up on the older device. Regardless of the cause, you can’t alter the newer phone to achieve a quicker connection. Also, are you running these speed tests without cellular data connected? You’re using a busy 2.4GHz network, and if you’re lucky, some devices might get a reliable and fast link. This depends on the time of day and how much activity there is on that network. A WiFi 5 or higher router wouldn’t just add 5GHz capability—it would also offer other improvements that boost overall performance compared to older generations.

I see. Kinda weird how there is nearly no information about this on the Internet but whatever. I'm looking into some "budget friendly" routers right now, I wonder if the ASUS RT-AC66U B1 is good enough.
