Wi-Fi mesh system / repeater / access point setup
Hello everyone. I currently use my ISP router in the living room, while the extender is on the opposite side of the apartment. I need internet access in my garage, which is three floors down, and I purchased an access point. I attempted to connect the AP from the extender (it shows as connected even though it lacks Internet access), but I made a RJ45 cable from the apartment to the garage. Now the simplest option would be to link the garage cable directly to the router (ISP provider). However, after the house was renovated, I no longer want cables scattered around. I found information about mesh Wi-Fi which might work for me. Could you confirm if this is correct? It should handle the extender function and then I can connect an output RJ45 to the AP? Please advise if I'm mistaken. Thanks!
Ensure your extender connects via Wi-Fi to Ethernet. Many devices prevent this, so only working from Ethernet to Wi-Fi. When using a cable, the extender won’t extend properly. I’d recommend contacting the manufacturer.
