You're experiencing a loss of Wi-Fi network visibility in Linux Mint 18.3. It seems the system can't detect or list available networks properly. This might be due to changes in how the network manager handles connections or a configuration issue. Try restarting the network manager service or checking its configuration files for any missteps. If the problem persists, consider reinstalling the network manager package or consulting the official documentation for troubleshooting steps.

The exact disappearance was unclear. The taskbar Wi-Fi icon might be absent or fail to detect other networks.

It links to networks, yet the nearby wireless AP list isn't visible until you execute "sudo service network-manager restart". Once that's done, it works until you restart the system.

There may be an issue with the network manager; consider reinstalling it or updating it if you haven't done so yet.
