Why is my motherboard not showing BCLK Frequency?
I possess an MSI H310M PRO-VDH motherboard equipped with an i5 8500 CPU. A forum suggested you can adjust the BCLK frequency on any LGA 1151 socket, but it doesn’t appear in your BIOS settings. When using per-core clock at 41(4.1Ghz), it fluctuates to 4.07Ghz during idle and drops to 3.8Ghz under stress due to King Ratio restrictions. You mentioned attempting a BIOS modification yourself, but MSI’s BIOS extension doesn’t support the changes you tried. I was using AMIBCP, which allowed editing the file directly. There was an option for BCLK frequency within the OC settings, and I updated it as well. However, after saving, the changes didn’t persist in the saved file. Please advise how to resolve this issue.
Maybe consider a winders utility? QuickCpu and XTU offer more flexibility. (I prefer quick CPU for direct management of parking cores)
It looks like you're expressing surprise about a simple motherboard.
XTU lacks a BCLK frequency setting; it only offers a multiplier and other BIOS-adjustable parameters. I don’t require the multiplier since my CPU doesn’t support an unlocked one. I tried boosting the BCKL frequency, but my BIOS didn’t allow it. I was hoping to find a workaround or a modded BIOS that unlocks these features. If anyone knows about a modified BIOS or software compatible with MSI BIOS (.190 files), please share. Thanks.
I understand. When I first received it, I wasn't aware of this. Now I aim to make the best use of it rather than replacing it with a new motherboard that would require a new CPU. I plan to upgrade next year.
