Why is my laptop acting so slow?
So, I was playing Apex Legends right now and suddenly my laptop fans started spinning insanely fast like 5,000 to 6,000 rpm. Then after that, no matter what game I play, the graphics cards get super slow. I reset the system to its old settings, updated all those driver files again, but the problem is still there. Some people say it's because of overheating, even though I tried running a few games when everything was cool down and it worked for once. This used to happen before but only if you do a clean Windows install does that fix the issue now. Do you know any other way to stop this? My laptop is an Acer Nitro 5 with an i5 processor, an 11th gen Intel chip, and an RTX 3060 card. Please help because this is driving me crazy. I did a clean install once, but for just one day it worked fine. After one night when I tried playing again, low FPS came back. It's only in games though; everything else like desktop or Chrome works perfectly without any issues at all.
Welcome to the forums! Someone here said they just updated their graphics driver and other stuff. They told us to use DDU to take out all GPU drivers first, then manually put in a new one from Nvidia's website using an elevated command like right-clicking the installer and choosing run as administrator. Before removing your drivers, check if your laptop needs a BIOS update too.
