Hello, I just got a new i5 2500K to swap in for my old i3 2100. It came in yesterday, and right away I noticed performance drops—lower FPS in Oblivion, stuttering during combat, and slow browsing. Anyone have any advice?

Did you remove all the old paste from the cooler and apply fresh thermal paste after installing the i5?

The i5 model is fresh and came with a new stock cooler, but I opted for fresh thermal paste instead of the one included.
