Why is my frame rate stuck at a specific FPS?
core i3-2100, GT 1030 DDR4 4GB
I’m using an old PC to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The issue is that the frame rate stays stuck between 10 and 16 frames per second whether I lower or raise the graphics settings. It’s unusual because usually lowering graphics should improve performance.
Vsync isn’t working either—I’m seeing 100+ frames during the loading screen.
Could it be the CPU, the graphics card, or something wrong with my Nvidia settings?
I mean, it's an i3-2100; that's a Sandy Bridge era i3. CPU probably just can't handle it.
The reason FPS isn't going up between "medium" and "low" is because most of the improvements are going to be on the GPU; the CPU is still doing more or less the same amount of work.
What was the CPU temperature and usage while playing? It seems there might be a CPU problem.
The CPU temperature is currently at a low of 44 degrees Celsius and reaches up to 65 degrees Celsius.
I believe the usage is likely around 70-90%, possibly indicating the CPU.
