Hey there, I just assembled a new computer and when I connect the Ethernet cable, nothing happens. It just displays an error saying I can't connect to a network and suggests checking the drivers. I attempted to install Realtek drivers but they didn’t work. The PCPartPicker list is available if you need more details.

Check if your network card shows up correctly in Device Manager and see if other devices connect via the same cable.

The laptop is working with the connection, but the adapter isn't showing up in the device manager.

To quote Adam Savage, "well there's yer problem!" Your motherboard has an Intel NIC, not a Realtek. Realtek network drivers won't do anything but take up drive space on your PC. You want to install the Intel i225 network driver from either MSI's website or Intel's: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z690...own-driver https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...loads.html
