Why is my Dell laptop acting strange?
I have a Latitude e7470 with an i5-6300u processor, 8GB of RAM, a 250GB SanDisk M.2 Sata drive, and a screen resolution of 1366x768. Recently, this laptop acts weird. After I don't use it for a few days, I turn it on and it still boots into Windows. But right before I log in, the screen goes black and stays there for about a minute, then the computer restarts and says "No bootable devices found." If I force the laptop to shut down (by holding the power button for 5 seconds), it boots to Recovery mode. When I choose to restart there, Windows starts normally again. Also, after long sleep times or hibernations, the laptop crashes right at the login screen and does the same thing. I've tried updating all drivers, changing the BIOS to the newest version, but that didn't fix anything. My Windows 10 is clean-installed. Maybe it's a problem with the BIOS? If lowering the BIOS settings is possible, can I do that? My SSD and RAM are fine, and they are connected to the motherboard correctly. Please help me! I am really frustrated. Edit: Also there is an erratic touchpad or trackpoint, but I can skip fixing that because I will disable it anyway and use a mouse instead.
If you have a hard drive connected to the MoBo, it does not mean everything is working fine. Based on what I see, you should get a new SSD because yours looks like it has failed. Also, even if you try putting in a known good SSD, you can't be sure your problem isn't from the old one breaking.

Here are the main reasons: 1. The operating system is broken - a fresh install usually fixes it. 2. The SSD has died - replacing the drive solves the problem. 3. The motherboard (or MoBo) is failing - you'll need to swap that out. <- If your MobO has two other SATA slots, try one of those since most laptops can run two drives at once. It might just be a bad port on the MobO. Basically, this shows some kind of hardware flaw where it takes way too long for the laptop (MobO) to fix itself and start working properly before the system boots up. You've got that really old Intel 6th gen laptop, so I think it's time to retire it all together. But if you want a little bit more life in it or still have some hope of fixing things, I suggest taking your laptop to a PC repair shop and paying them for diagnostics plus the fix.
