Why I have Fps drops?
Hi! I'm a bit unsure about my English. Usually after about half an hour of gaming, my games start to drop in frames. I checked why this happens in some games like Black Ops 3, GTA V, and World of Tanks—though I know the WoT isn't optimized. The cooling looks good, I ran AIDA64 for two hours and the CPU stayed at 55°C while the GPU reached 60°C. I bought a pre-built PC two and a half years ago with an AMD FX 8310 processor. This summer I upgraded to a GTX1050TI and a NZXT S340 case. I watched it and think my CPU should handle the GPU well. What do you think? Why are my FPS dropping? It could be due to an old CPU or motherboard, a failing HDD, or maybe the PSU isn't powerful enough. Please help me out!
The power supply seems insufficient. Performance drops as temperature rises, resulting in output below 430 watts in warm conditions—perhaps around 350 watts at 50°C.
What amount of RAM do you have available, and are there any background processes active? A weak CPU can frequently lead to lower FPS, which might be the issue. FX CPUs typically lack strong single-thread performance. The power supply unit isn’t likely the cause unless you’ve overclocked your system. I believe the Corsair PSU is a green label option, though it’s not as reliable as the grey-label alternatives.
I possess an 8GB RAM system. The power supply is a Corsair builder series CX430.
Also, I’m unsure about the cooling setup or room temperature, but 55°C after two hours is very efficient for a 95-watt processor. I’m curious if there’s significant throttling happening on the CPU side. What kind of motherboard is it—any brand or model details? Since it was pre-built, I don’t have specific expectations.
