Why doesn't Valve fight back?
I'm really frustrated with Epic Store and their tactics toward developers. They've left Steam empty of real games lately, and all I'm seeing are poor 2D/platformer/japanese/anime titles, while Epic has released Borderlands 3, Watch Dogs Legion, Control, The Outer Worlds, and more. It's disappointing to see the upcoming AAA titles missing from Steam. I really wanted to play Borderlands 3 on my PC but now it seems I'll have to play it on PS4.
Why don't you simply access the epic store and then head to Borderlands there?
he likely dislikes needing several launchers like me. i tried cave and managed to get the epic launcher, but before that if it isn’t available on steam i’m not getting it. that’s why even though i thought titanfall was cool, i never got it since it’s only on origin. though i hear nowadays it’s pretty outdated or something, which might have been a good thing
Missed out. Nice game, but it fell apart under EA's control. Respawn is back now without EA's grip, and I'm excited for what's next after Apex Legends.
They are limited releases, so if you wait they will eventually arrive. Regarding countering this, do you truly wish for them to restrict exclusive titles solely to their platform? That would push away the big part of the community already upset about EPIC's exclusives.
Valve doesn't retaliate since the industry's top players have already departed, leaving it as a haven for those who appreciate the game sector. Steam now largely fuels the company's steady earnings. In short, Valve believes its size makes it nearly unstoppable.
Valve operates quite differently, making it difficult to pinpoint their exact strategy. However, I believe they’re likely pausing until circumstances stabilize before taking significant actions. The current momentum of the Epic store for developers and deals may not last indefinitely. If Valve moves too aggressively soon, they could find themselves in a disadvantageous position later on. It’s wiser to wait and respond thoughtfully rather than rushing into decisions.
