Okay so I've got Win 10 updated to the newest version and only have MS Defender turned on for antivirus protection. I double checked with Malwarebytes, then used VirusTotal to make sure nothing is hiding there. For what I did: I installed Zoom desktop. What I expected to see happen was that my login would go through normally and I could start using Zoom. Instead, it keeps crashing all the time. Sometimes it just goes silent or doesn't respond at all. Other times you get funny errors like you can't sign in even after trying many different ways, or you can't create an invite because there is no record of that invite in your history. I tried restarting a few times and now Zoom says to uninstall it but I need to restore the app from my recovery point first so I can reinstall it and then look at the log files for more clues. What do you think? Any ideas or should we get those logs before we go further?

What exact Windows 10 version? Where can I get a Zoom download? Try downloading it again and reinstalling just to make sure your Zoom desktop isn't broken or messed up. Check Microsoft's Reliability History and Event Viewer. Either one or both might have shown some error code or warning message that matches the times you had problems with Zoom crashing.

Yeah, true enough, sorry, Win10 version 10.0.19043 Build 19043 here. The download link comes from zoom.us and I checked the hash using a site called Virustotal. There are no reliability history logs or crashes showing up in Event Viewer except for one termination event. But wait, Adobe PDF Reader did crash trying to connect with Zoom. Yes, there are open source PDF readers out there, but I only have Adobe because it's the only one that can actually give accurate creation dates; Explorer's Properties just shows download time. So I'm going to uninstall Adobe right now and see if this error still happens, hopefully fixing it! My PC's keyboard is weird too: pressing Shift makes it paste things automatically instead of letting me type normally. I tried Defender, Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, nothing except one tracking cookie appeared. But that made me think I should test for malware using a Linux USB drive. Also, new RAM and SSD from Crucial remind me to run an overnight memtest! Edit: I'm also going to reinstall Zoom now that Adobe is gone. Then I'll run sfc / dism just to be sure.

I still haven't seen any logs. If they were saved with the app, they're probably lost or too hard to find. I realized my internet has major issues now, like a lag up to 45 seconds (or more). That could have caused some crashes! But the real problem is that the computer uses all its CPU power when Zoom opens on desktop. I already sent feedback about this with Zoom: Zoom app shows 100% CPU and the community thread says it affects many people, links are there. Will report back soon! I'm watching an email alert so someone can check if I'm slow to reply.
