My Windows 11 laptop screen gets dark if I leave it for more than half a minute, and it goes to sleep right after that. I checked all the power settings, brightness options, turned off Windows Hello too, but the system still acts like my choices aren't being used. I searched everywhere for a fix, but everything points back to just adjusting the power plan or brightness levels. Now school is starting and I often look away while listening to lectures, watching slides, or even following sheet music in the recording app on my computer. This makes things much harder because my audio pauses mid-song, I have to wait for extra time to log back in, and sometimes I miss important parts of the lesson and get distracted during class. Even though I'm not exactly sure if this is the main problem, my laptop is an XPS 13, and I already turned off Windows Hello because that was the first thing I thought about when it started dimming after I looked away.

It faded out and fell asleep in about a minute, just like it would have done if I had been taking my eyes off the screen.

I get it. A lot of stuff in Task Manager means nothing or almost nothing at all to me, so why not tell you what they mean and check if I missed something? Thanks for being so careful with your advice; it helps so much when dealing with hard problems from the wrong spot.
