Why do some games just show slow motion lately, even when they run at speed like 60 frames per second or more?
A short history of gaming trouble. Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, Dead or Alive Venus Vacation, and Dragon Quest Heroes 2 were all working great until about November or December last year. I stopped playing for a few months, but when I came back, those games moved really slowly even though the Windows Game Bar says I'm getting 60 frames per second. What's weirder is that menus and pre-rendered scenes are moving at full speed while only 3D elements move slow. I ignored this because these games aren't my favorites anymore until now it shows up in newer buys like Samurai Shodown. I thought maybe it was just a bad graphics driver but I updated everything since. Even though I tried buying on Epic to see if Steam had the fault, plenty of other big games like AC Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 work fine. I posted this on different message boards and seem to be the only person seeing this happen too. I have an Alienware Aurora R8 and Dell won't even talk to me unless I renew my warranty. I think it's a software problem anyway. FYI, I did all the usual stuff like clean reinstalls and checking files to make sure things are okay.
Did you see the date? It was almost two and a half years ago, maybe November or December of 2020. Wait... that's way too long! You need to tell us your computer's real hardware specs (CPU, RAM, GPU) and which Operating System is running. Also, please share where you bought these games and the brand and model of your modem, router, and internet connection. Did you get any "gaming for a few months"? If not, make sure all software, drivers, apps, and games are fully updated. Use Task Manager to see what's using up your computer power while checking it before starting gaming and again during the game. See if anything changed.
