To locate the app manifest file, visit the game's store page, observe the URL numbers, then move to the Steam library location where the game was previously installed and identify the matching appmanifest file.

You can save your progress by using the built-in backup feature in Steam. If the Steam Back Up tool isn't working, try restarting your PC or checking for updates to ensure everything runs smoothly. When the update completes, follow the on-screen instructions to save your work.

Typically, games store files in "My Documents/Publisher/Game" or simply "My Documents/Game." Be sure to verify this, since I'm unsure how the game manages its storage.

I saved the file to a different spot and removed it from the C drive, letting it complete the update process on the new drive. Then I deleted it from the old drive to observe the outcome.

Consider navigating to the specified directory on your system. Locate the "appmanifest_24010.manifest" file and relocate it to the Steam library location on your S: drive. If the game resides in "S:\Steam Games", ensure it's placed there under "SteamLib". You may also remove the manifest and then reinstall the game, directing Steam to point to the correct drive for verification instead of a full download.

Everything turned out to be completely pointless. Nothing actually improved or changed. I can't even restore the game since my sound packs are already installed, so Steam is clearly in trouble and just stares at me. FFS! I'll hold off until I've got all the new PC components before making any decisions. It's strange because I can play the game fine on my SSD, but updates always cause problems and Steam won't let me fix them.
