My laptop screen was working fine for more than a year ago. About one month back, maybe two weeks at that time, a small line of dead pixels showed up near the bottom. I didn't know if it was the socket (even though they aren't exactly called that) and I didn't want to make things worse by unplugging just to see if it stopped for a single line of bad pixels. But now it is getting out of hand with several horizontal lines, and I think it will get even worse. Is my guess about the socket correct, or do I need to buy a new screen?

Maybe they aren't dead pixels and your screen is okay. To check, turn on your laptop and press the right F key to go into the BIOS. Then see if this problem shows up in there too?

I looked at my screen and the lines showed up on the BIOS display too. But when I plugged in my smart TV using an HDMI cable, there are no lines appearing. Also, those lines aren't steady; their colors keep flickering. For instance, the blue lines under the icons from the photo I shared are shaking.

Hello, this problem started a few months ago when just one line of stuck pixels appeared at the bottom of the screen. Then more lines started showing up. Now, sometimes only part of the lower half gets stuck. Sometimes it works fine for a short time, but then it's all stuck again or not updated properly and those lines stay there forever. The problem does not happen on light colors but only on dark ones. I want to fix this by replacing parts, but I am not sure if it is just the monitor, the cable, or the connector that is broken.

Don't split into many thoughts if you don't mean to get confused.
