PC starts repeatedly when RAM is installed in dual-channel setup. It seems to work with slots 1&2 or 3&4, but not all combinations. I suspect the issue might be related to a faulty CMOS battery, as yours is dead.

Reset the CMOS. Refresh the BIOS and chipset drivers. Inspect the CPU for any faulty memory channels.

No USB needed unless your BIOS is outdated. You can usually use a CD for installation.
