Why do I experience better FPS with high settings compared to medium ones in this game?
I recently purchased a 3440x1440p 144hz widescreen monitor and have been experimenting with the best configurations for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War at 1440p. My computer is decent, but at medium settings I was achieving around 60fps on average. I increased the settings to high and saw a significant improvement, reaching about 80-85fps. I haven't adjusted anything else, like V-Sync, so I'm puzzled as to why higher settings are giving me such a noticeable boost in frames.
It's a PC I assembled some time back. It features a Ryzen 2600x, quiet cooler, ASRock X470, 16GB G.Skill DDR4, MSI Armor GTX 1070, Evga 750W Supernova, ADATA 256GB M.2, 2TB Seagate Barracuda, and a 4TB Western Digital external drive, housed in an NZXT H440 case.
Yeah, I still believe it's about how it's used.
It seems like the only sensible explanation for me.
