It seemed quite rough at first after launch—no one from XP was actively supporting it, and everyone was hesitant to release their updates. But after about a year, once the drivers and patches arrived, things improved significantly. I tested it on an Asus laptop I'd owned for 5 to 6 years without any issues.

Note that the system took around 20 seconds to boot the BIOS, which wasn’t unusually long. That means it wasn’t a major slowdown issue. Still, I didn’t encounter any problems with Vista before.

I started my Lenovo G580 in just two seconds, but it took longer to launch—around 15 to 30 seconds, depending on whether it was a cold boot or not. The main reason seems to be the storage size and the hard drive type.

Really, it seems like I’m the only one who ran on Vista without any problems. My old gateway machine from nine years ago still worked perfectly with Vista, and I really enjoyed it—so I upgraded my laptop to run Vista first before switching to 7 Down.
