Why can't I make my old graphics card run faster than its normal speed?
Hey! I tried to speed up my GPU using the app called MSI Afterburner, but both my base clock and boost clock stayed stuck at 405MHz. I could not move any of the sliders because everything just reset itself instantly. Also, the software didn't read the temperature from the card at all; it felt like the computer didn't even see the GPU installed. I have never overclocked this laptop before, so I don't know what's going on and how to fix this problem. If someone knows why this is happening, let me know—it would be really appreciated. Here are some details: Laptop: ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501VW GPU: GTX960m CPU: i7-6700HQ RAM: 16GB MSI Afterburner Screenshot (With error I guess): https://imgur.com/a/U5EGBbH View: https://imgur.com/a/U5EGBbH
I won't take a laptop's base GPU to get it faster. The heat and power used will hurt the machine instead of helping it.
