Not every game is created equal. Poor performance doesn’t always mean it’s unoptimized. How do you know? Did you build the game yourself or use the developers’ tools? Vram runs faster than regular system RAM, and storing textures in RAM can cause issues like popping and slow loading times.

It might just be that the game isn't well optimized for PC. As you mentioned, with only 1GB of VRAM, performance will be heavily restricted for a game that demands a lot of memory. Having just a third or a quarter of the necessary VRAM usually leads to poor results. I understand your point—most PC gamers end up pushing the game to run smoothly instead of letting it struggle. It's often the case that we have to work harder on our systems to get games to function properly.

Your PC isn't the issue—it's likely a user mistake.

I think technically everything can be further optimized. that's kind of the nature of programming. there is always a more elegant solution to be found. The best can always be improved upon. So nothing is fully optimized, and everything can be improved upon. The question is whether its good enough. for this guy with his old rig, the answer is no, its not good enough for him.

Sorry bro, it might be wise to upgrade your PC before you start complaining about games not running well.

I see your point, but it isn't tailored for his setup. That's good news because then you'd be dealing with PS3 visuals and games that can't fully explore their potential. It's similar to how older consoles limit PC experiences—older or weaker machines restrict high-performance software.

The cod is problematic because it mainly targets consoles. Let's look at the latest update as an illustration. On PC, the em1 was designed for console play, but it didn't work well there—players couldn't aim accurately. Developers would emulate it on consoles and then transfer the patch to PC, creating a significant gap. This isn't just about optimization; it highlights how support varies across platforms. When companies ignore platform needs, it loses value. I've already sent an email to Steam requesting its removal from my library, as I find it frustrating to deal with what feels like a game waste.

I have improved my specs and I play at 1080 with textures at their original resolution (fine with optimal settings). Occasionally I experience some drops, but otherwise the game runs smoothly. Blops 2 is more stable and looks similar, so perhaps they still need further optimization. You can't say a game is terrible when it barely meets the basic requirements—it's like saying Star Citizen is terrible because I can't run it.

Absolutely disliking it! The game suffers from terrible optimization, and that’s definitely not the issue here. Completely frustrating.
