because you registered for it? btw, nothing weird to happen, you can be a insider without downloading betas

You might have overlooked certain choices that let Windows send error messages, bugs, and suggestions. Microsoft saw this as you agreeing to help test different Windows versions.

I didn't sign up for it. That's my issue. When I set up Windows 10 for the third time, I unchecked everything.

I received an insider account, but a faulty update caused nodes to break my installations, forcing me to reinstall everything. I haven’t turned it on since.

Seems like you reinstalled Windows 10 at some point, opted for the ISO instead of using the Media Creation Tool, downloaded the Insider Build, and ended up running an unapproved version that wasn’t part of the official release.
