I'm encountering difficulties with stuttering while gaming. I consistently aim to achieve frame rates of 120 or higher, leveraging my 144Hz monitor. The problem is most prevalent in Destiny 2, even when using lower graphics settings, though I believe my system’s components have the capacity to handle more demanding configurations without encountering issues like frame drops or pauses. Generally, I’m experiencing consistent game stutters. This PC represents my initial independent construction, and I suspect a misconfiguration or altered setting may be the cause. Any guidance in resolving this issue or improving performance would be greatly appreciated. If it becomes evident that my hardware is insufficient, or that I should be utilizing lower graphics settings to maintain consistent 120 frames or higher, I will adjust accordingly. Let’s consider: What source is powering your computer's core system? It won’t make a difference where you keep your games if your operating system is still running from a traditional hard drive.
Update: In reality, both your games and your operating system should reside on an SSD to maximize performance; otherwise, you’re simply not utilizing your time effectively. Therefore, it would be more beneficial to purchase an SSD with sufficient capacity to accommodate both the OS and your games.
