WHY?!
WHY?!
It seems like you're pointing out that something doesn't appear very different when it reaches your eyes.
Games become increasingly challenging over time. Even when playing at a consistent 1080p, modern titles today push more limits than those from a decade ago. I bet I could run three levels easier in 4K than I could with some of the latest AAA games at 1080p. As long as we keep demanding better visuals, we'll need stronger hardware to handle them.
Subjectively, opinions vary on the comparison between 1440p and 1080p. From a technical standpoint, if the screen dimensions remain constant, 4k represents a more substantial increase than the difference between 1080p and 1440p.
EVGA's departure from Nvidia was reportedly due to treatment issues, though Nvidia seems reluctant to act as they're heavily investing in consumer markets. AMD is gradually emerging as a serious competitor thanks to its affordable hardware, particularly the upcoming 7000 series GPUs.
I haven’t played SOTTR, but Cyberpunk is likely the toughest card in terms of performance needs. That’s rare. Most of my game collection runs smoothly at 90+ FPS on my 3070 at 1440p. I haven’t played Cyberpunk since it came out, because I’m still disappointed by its quality.
I’m focusing on my own perspective regarding Nvidia’s pricing and sales strategies, completely separate from the discussion about the value of 4K gaming.
He should have his vision assessed to see if 4K matches 1440p quality. This highlights a lack of understanding about the topic.
