Who thought Fallout 4 was a let down
I purchased oblivion right away. Fine for the game, but I really enjoyed exploring the ultra-modded versions and DLCs from the beginning—especially in Skyrim, where everything looked stunning.
I've only ever played Fallout 4, yet I considered it a solid title.
It's a solid game. Much better than Fallout 3. Not quite as impressive as Fallout New Vegas. Hard to believe people think it's any different from Skyrim or Oblivion. Except for the setting, it's essentially the same Bethesda formula. A confusing mix of story, poor dialogue, endless exploration, and repetitive quests. That was what we should have expected. All Bethesda titles follow this pattern. Fallout 4 wasn't a disappointment. I went ahead with it just like other Bethesda releases and it delivered the experience I anticipated. Around 50-60 hours of exploration with minimal depth. If you're after a 2015 classic, go for Witcher 3, but Fallout 4 was enjoyable.
When I play it, it can be enjoyable sometimes, but other times it feels like a pita or dull and monotonous. Still, I don’t wish I had missed it and bought the PS4. The deal at Best Buy was interesting because we found Galaxy S6s there during a promotion that ended on or after Black Friday last year (2015), offering a $250 gift card per line.
Fallout 4 offers solid gameplay and a strong modding scene. That’s about it. The DLC might add some excitement to the usual story, but I doubt it’ll make much of a difference.
It was a decent game, not terrible, yet it wasn’t particularly outstanding. I wouldn’t claim Witcher 3 beat Fallout 4, but it certainly didn’t live up to the standards of the latter.
