Who plays WoW ?
I think many players continue to enjoy WoW. I recently downloaded it again and am getting excited about the upcoming expansion later this year. I’ve been playing since around 2008 or 2009 (around the end of Wrath of the Lich King). I’m curious if others share my view—whether people mainly play when new content releases and there’s a period without major updates, roughly a year between expansions.
Wow, things are pretty rough around the block these days. Everyone seems exhausted from all the WoD stuff, and I'm holding off on getting back into grinding just yet. I'm hoping Legion beta will give me a better shot at gear that actually helps me earn more gold. Right now it looks nice but feels empty, and I don't think it's worth my time or money right now. Casual players are overrepresented, which isn't what I'm looking for.
I understand that one of the main problems with the game right now is that it mainly targets casual players, and I really dislike how easy everything is. They should bring back the original challenge level so the experience feels more genuine! It would be great if Legion added some tougher difficulty options, especially since you’ll be battling real demons.
Sadly, this won't occur anytime soon. To be clear, the game is quite outdated. It's not as exciting anymore. I've been logged in for a few weeks now, and the trade chat mostly consists of people buying boosts for Mythic and CM. Gold isn't useful right now (I have around 1.5 million spread across my characters and another 2 million in guild banks). WoW Tokens could have been one of Blizzard's biggest errors recently, pushing the game toward a free-to-play model. It's only going to take time before the subscription system disappears completely (I haven't paid cash for a subscription since the Token was introduced, and I have enough gold to cover several years of subscriptions). WoW really needs a major update if it wants to survive any longer. Legion might be the final blow to its current state.
