I believe it's not the right fit for me. While I appreciate having direct control over my operating system, I prefer avoiding terminal interactions for anything beyond basic tasks. I've experimented with various Linux distributions, mostly for disk formatting since Windows doesn't allow connecting a Windows-compatible drive to format. Right now, I'm using an old netbook running Linux just to get comfortable with it. After spending two hours researching and another hour tweaking the fan control via terminal, that was about all the excitement I needed. Coming from a background where I learned BASIC and Ti-BASIC in school, took C+ in high school, and explored HTML and other topics, Linux feels more interactive than I'd like for everyday use. I miss plug-and-play features and managing GUI tools and hardware.
