Hey everyone, I just finished my first build and faced serious coil whine issues. It was tough to identify the source, so I swapped out the GPU. The problem lingered afterward, though it improved slightly. Switching power supplies didn’t help either. I’m starting to think the issue might be coming from the motherboard, which is frustrating because I’d rather not replace it. Any suggestions you have? Thanks ahead!

Confirm if the issue is coil whine and check for HDDs.

It appears mainly in specific situations rather than all setups. Coil whine tends to be strongest during high power usage and fast refresh rates, with many systems showing it only under certain conditions within the same programs. It's not likely caused by household AC noise, but switching to another outlet or using a UPS might help.

UPS investments are definitely beneficial, I strongly suggest beginning with this option.

It appears only during gaming, though it's consistently audible when running rdr2 or shadow of the thombraider. It shows up mainly at the character selection screen in ow2. The sound pattern shifts based on the content displayed—like watching the sky in rd2 completely masks it. I've tested using another power source, but without a UPS I'm unsure if that would help. Could you consider factors related to a UPS?

It seems to appear only during high stress. The sound's pitch shifts based on what's occurring in the game. 2. I don't have any further details.

It seems you're dealing with GPU coil whine, a common issue linked to amperage and frame rate. Higher frame rates often cause the pitch to rise. Your fix might involve limiting frame rate or using sound absorption materials.

However, I adjusted the GPU settings and kept it consistent across both cards in the same situations.

Can you confirm if your CPU supports an integrated graphics unit that works without a dedicated card?
