Which temperature monitor is dependable?
I'm testing my i7 7700k with prime 95, getting 93°C via HWMonitor and 82°C with Asus Thermal Radar core. Which reading is more reliable? Also, I'm running at 4.8GHz on the Asus Tuf Mark 2 Z270.
Measuring temperatures using diodes can be quite tricky. The process involves a voltage change, and programs try to convert this into temperature data as best they can. In reality, both methods seem to have issues. ASUS might be more accurate since they understand how their diodes work.
