Which system is more suitable for gaming?
Hello,
Which system would be more suitable for gaming?
First option: MSI MAG B550M with Wi-Fi, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, VGA AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB DDR6, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM.
Second option: Asrock H310CM-DVS motherboard, Intel Core i7-8700 CPU, Nvidia RTX 2060 Super DUAL 8GB DDR6 VGA, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM.
Please share your thoughts.
The initial choice was made due to superior overall hardware, allowing for an upgrade to a Ryzen 5000 CPU, which remains a highly effective gaming processor.
The AMD build overlooked the Intel version. It features a much higher quality board and the GPU performs better. As @hotaru.hino correctly points out, if you wished for a superior CPU, you could simply install one later, like a 5800X3D which would easily outperform an i7 8700.
Motherboard: MSI MAG B550M MORTAR WIFI
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
VGA: AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB DDR6
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz
This setup offers a more balanced overall configuration. I've tried the B550M MAG Mortar, and it performs well. It provides solid power delivery, high-quality build, and future upgrades are easier compared to the ASRock model. The design also looks better, which matters if you plan to display the PC. From a gaming perspective, the CPU is close enough to the 3700X, but it handles modern titles smoothly. The 6700XT offers more power, and with the added 12GB of VRAM, it will become increasingly relevant in the future.
