I found the Verge PC guy video a while back and noticed some people were surprised by his RAM placement. I built my PC about five years ago, just installing parts without much knowledge. After upgrading my GPU, I realized the RAM slots are actually the third and fourth ones. I’m not having any issues right now, but I’m wondering if changing them to 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 would be better, or if it’s fine as is.

The standard configuration for every motherboard brand is 2 and 4 slots. Keeping it unchanged means dual-channel won't activate, which can lower your performance relative to a comparable PC, though the RAM placement will be in the right locations.

Your PC is likely operating in single-channel mode. Use slots 2 and 4 to enable dual-channel performance. [cpu] 1 2 3 4

You can verify if your system is in single-channel mode by checking the RAM configuration settings. Look for details about the number of channels and memory modules, ensuring they match your setup of two 8GB modules.

Just switch the slots to 2 and 4. No additional steps needed beyond that.
