The age of the RM1000e depends on its usage history. If it has been in operation for some time, it likely powered various systems during its operational period. When purchasing a PSU together with the GPU, it's recommended to use a 1.2KW unit.

As mentioned, the performance is good but the price is poor. I purchased my 3080 at launch for £754, and according to your numbers, which are lower than UK prices, the new ‘80 card is still 50% more expensive. For me, paying 50% more for an additional 40% performance isn’t worth it, especially if I didn’t already have a high-end GPU. In that case, I would consider buying a 4080.

There is limited information about the RM1000e series. The RM1000x receives positive reviews. Newer models are consistently well received.
The RM1000x appears to be a superior option. It includes a 10-year warranty, whereas the RM1000e offers only 7 years and costs $10 less. The device is also shorter in size. I suspect they may be compromising on quality. If you're investing a significant amount in a 4090, don't risk more than $10. Choose the better supply or a top-tier seasonic.

RMX performs well.
The 5000 series card isn't arriving anytime soon; I used it to illustrate a possible upgrade route.
