The I7 offers a slight edge thanks to its increased core count, though for many uses this difference won’t be obvious. The I5 seems like a more budget-friendly choice.

It works well, though I understand in extremely CPU-constrained titles RAM rate often plays a big role. When you're using minimal detail and low resolution in competitive play, it usually does matter. Take World of Warcraft as an example.
