Which option is better: upgrading the CPU or installing a completely new system?
I haven't followed the latest PC gaming trends and feel a bit confused. I purchased a system from CyberPower a few years ago (mainly for playing Fallout 4) with these specifications:
- Intel i7-8700k CPU
- Radeon RX-580 GPU
- 16 GB of XPG RAM
My graphics card is outdated, but my CPU might still work if I want to run Starfield. Or should I upgrade everything completely?

It really depends on your budget. Any new video card you purchase will be limited by your existing setup, which means you'll need to buy another one knowing it won't deliver the same performance as in a newer system. Also, consider that you might need to upgrade your power supply to match it.

New PSU and GPU first. Once FSR 3 code becomes available, it will be soon supported as mods in games you play, possibly even officially. I definitely value the perspectives of the forum moderators and posters, but I’ve used two CyberPower systems and one IBuyPower system, all of which performed exceptionally well without any build or quality problems.
My main worries are about the CPU/GPU/MOBO setup? Are these components reliable, or would switching to different parts be a better choice?
I don't know if the rams are CL 36 or CL 30. The Ryzen 7000 requires CL 30.
The second issue is the motherboard—it's a basic motherboard with likely 50A capacitors and no VRM heatsink.
The SSD model SN580 doesn't include built-in heat sinks, and the motherboard lacks an SSD heatsink cover.
The case supports GPU lengths up to 350mm. If you upgrade later, you'll need to install it in the top slot or keep the GPU length under 300mm.
Air cooler height should be below 160mm; with good options, you might use the stock cooler.
