Hello, I was looking to purchase a new laptop on a budget. I checked online shops in my country and found two options with similar prices but different specifications. The first model has a Ryzen 4600H with an Nvidia 1650, while the second features a Ryzen 3750H paired with an Nvidia 1660 Ti. On benchmark sites, it was mentioned that the Ryzen 3750H might be better than the 1650, but on Quora users said the 1660 Ti could outperform the 1650. The price gap is only about 1 million IDR, roughly $69. Which one should I pick? Here are the links to both products:

Your initial link doesn't display a 4600H processor.
For fast action games, choose the model with better 1660ti graphics.
If you prefer CPU-focused titles like Sims, MMO, and strategy games, opt for the stronger 4600H CPU unit.
I wouldn't purchase either unless you intend to upgrade RAM to 16GB.
Keep in mind, many users complain about gaming laptops underperforming.
They often run while connected to power.
A typical issue is thermal throttling.
Laptop coolers need to be compact and lightweight, which limits their power.
It seems the Lenovo options might offer better ventilation.

the performance difference between those configurations depends on various factors. The 1660 seems to consistently offer about 50% better fps than 1650, but I’m concerned about the 3750H model’s potential bottleneck. Also, your question about temperatures with the ASUS TUF versus the Lenovo Legion 5 is unrelated to the previous points.

The 5600H offers a bit more power than the 3750H, which is beneficial for CPU-heavy games such as CS:GO.
On the other hand, having fast graphics performance is always advantageous.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to test each one personally to make a decision.
Regarding heat, I recommend checking reviews for the specific model you're interested in.

After reviewing gaming benchmarks, it looks like 3750H is sufficient for CPU-intensive games such as CSGO. However, on GPU-heavy titles, CPU power becomes less critical compared to GPU performance. Also, the 1650 VRAM appears to be a significant limitation in games like Control and FPS from 1650 versus 1660 Ti. Would spending an extra $69 be justified if I plan to use this laptop until 2024?

The ideapad gaming cooling appears insufficient when compared to the Legion series. Most reviews of ideapads with an RTX 3060 in their region report issues like thermal throttling, which the Legion does not experience.

There are two laptop components that generate the most heat, the cpu and the graphics chip.
A 3080 chip is a stronger performer, but is also hotter.
On the cpu side, there is some good news. The more current gen products are more efficient per clock and will use a smaller/less power hungry technology.
Buy a current gen laptop and temper your expectations.
You can always cut back on cpu heat by reducing the max performance in windows power management.
Reduce the default 100% high cpu performance from the default to perhaps 80% and use a balanced profile. A balanced constant 80% is playable while a yoyo between 20% and 100% is not.

I would choose the one with the 1660ti since it allows playing CS GO and Minecraft on both GPUs, while Forza would gain from the more powerful GPU.
