Ethernet is usually better if you can choose between it and WiFi. On the other hand, Wifi often gets messed up because of random signals coming from inside or outside your home. If the signal is strong enough to watch movies on Wifi, then it's fine for that specific task. It can handle small problems with interference since it uses a buffer to catch data retransmissions. But big problems will cause the video to pause or buffer. Overall, you should be okay with Wifi for most things except online games, which get hurt much more by signal retransmission on Wifi.
