Which of these water coolers is the best?
There are actually some really attractive tower coolers for under fifty dollars. And some even offer good quality AIO liquid coolers at a lower price.
I haven't encountered any air coolers under $50 that match a solid AIO, especially considering the quality you're looking for. I'd appreciate some evidence to back this up.
I am a bit disappointed with myself for doing this, but I really want a nice-looking PC. I know I can get a better air cooler for 70 dollars, but I prefer something that looks good. I want to get rid of this old 2008 PC. For 70 dollars, maybe I could find a Noctua air cooler, which would probably lower the temperature by about 5 degrees Celsius. I don’t mind it much because I won’t use it heavily and my room isn’t too hot (meaning the temperature stays under 20 degrees).
AIOs don't offer good value when measured against an air cooler. My GammaX 400 was 7 degrees hotter than mine, but it was noisier and less attractive.
A $50 air cooler will surpass a $50 120mm aio.
That’s an undeniable truth.
The gammaxx 400 isn’t a $50 cooler—it’s a $25 budget model that delivers excellent performance for its cost.
I see it as more attractive from a design perspective, but there are many potential issues with an aio.
The only flaw in a tower cooler is the fan, which can be easily replaced.
I also concur that noctuas (all of them) are quite unreliable.
I bought a Silentium Fortis Malik custom for £35/$45.
That unit performs comparably to a budget 240mm aio quite well.
It’s also not as unattractive as it looks.
When aiming for an air cooler I’d likely use a very clean rock, while for an AIO I’d opt for the ML240L.
