Which of these three laptop models should you pick?
Hi, I currently own an ASUS FX 505-9300-1650-16gb laptop. Since the 1650 model is quite outdated by 2023, I’m planning to upgrade. I want to note that I’m not a dedicated gamer—less than 75-100 hours a year. I’d prefer choosing Asus over Lenovo.
Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8
(82XV00KKAX) is one of the options. My area only supports a 144hz-FHD screen, which isn’t ideal for me. The weight and color range are also not appealing.
Asus Fa507NV
has a Ryzen+4060 processor. Unfortunately, the configuration with 12700 has a 15% higher price, and I’d rather avoid that cost.
Asus Q530VJ
is another choice. It’s priced at 13620+3050, which is great. I like how slim it is compared to other gaming laptops. However, I couldn’t find a setup with 4050 or 4060 (this one is 3050) and prefer a Dlss3 configuration with F.G for better longevity.
I’m open to suggestions within this price range.
Thanks in advance.

1. What is your budget?
2. What is the size of the notebook...
Your budget is around 1100$, but it seems a bit high, so you might want to aim for 900-1000$.
The notebook size you're thinking about is between 14-15.6 inches.
You don’t have any specific requirements for the screen resolution; FHD meets your needs.
You don’t need a portable or desktop replacement laptop since you already own a PC and use them regularly.
Your battery life requirement is usually sufficient on a regular connection, but you prefer longer usage for multimedia tasks like watching movies.
If you plan to play games, you’d like to know the recommended settings: low, medium, or high. For now, I’m considering 1-3 years, usually setting it to ultra with DLSS enabled and FHD. Right now I don’t have a clear idea, but my last game was Resident Evil Village and The Last of Us. I also have Bulduar Gate 3 installed.
Other tasks you’d like to perform include photo/video editing, web surfing, and using Adobe Connect for online classes.
You need enough storage, preferably an external HDD.

You don’t mind keeping it for a long time; I prefer a Dell with DLS3 for longevity, possibly 4-6 years if possible. I bought mine in 2019 and am still satisfied, though 1650 won’t suffice even in FHD.
You don’t require an optical drive such as DVD ROM/Writer or Bluray ROM/Writer.
Tell us about the brands you prefer and those you dislike, along with your reasons. I tend to choose Asus because of its good quality and screen clarity, which is superior to my previous Lenovo models like Z500 (2013-2018) and E580 (2018-2019). Those two models are disappointing due to their screen performance.
I focus on having a GPU with 1-GPU and good dual-screen quality, preferably Sharp color with excellent contrast.
