Hi, I'm using Windows 10 with a GTX 1050 Ti GPU. My NVIDIA driver is set up on an SSD that runs OS. There are many NVIDIA folders taking up a lot of space on the SSD — like C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA(6GB only storing logs), C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation(2GB), C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation(440MB), C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation(281MB), and C:\Users\"user name\AppData\Local\NVIDIA(210MB); C:\Users\"user name\AppData\Local\NVIDIA Corporation(110MB). Now the driver I downloaded from NVIDIA is only about 400-500MB. Why does it consume so much space? Which NVIDIA folders can I safely delete to free up room?
First, download the latest Nvidia drivers for your card and DDU. Start DDU in safe mode and delete all Nvidia drivers; it can also work for AMD GPUs if you have them. Restart and install the newest driver you downloaded before. If you've used Nvidia cards or upgraded from older models, keep installing new drivers to prevent folder buildup. It's advised to use DDU to remove old drivers before changing cards. I attempt to run it at least twice a year, even without card changes, just to clear outdated ones. Searching for Nvidia files on C:/ shows only 1.2GB available.
